Charles 101

Charles Richardson is 101 years old, having been born in England in 1915.

His life has been a balancing act between surviving and making the most of situations as they came along.This series came about when three of his friends, Robert Munden, Marc Bright and Graeme Baxter heard that he had just penned his memoirs and didn't really know what to do next in order to get them published. His main objective was to be able to tell his story so that his little grand daughter who is only 3 would understand who he was and what sort of life he had had.

When we found out he had lived through WW1 then served with The Desert Rats in all their campaigns, we just knew we had to help him get his story told, not only for his family but for the world.Setting up a crowdfunding platform for his publishing expenses with the hope that we would raise enough to also make his documentary we decided to create a T-shirt as a reward for pledges received. In the process of doing this we realised that his steadfast conviction that he did not belong to any religion but had without knowing, been living and practising a philosophy that aligned him with Buddhist principles.

Along the way his work with Celine had brought him face to face with Buddhist practices once she herself converted. Between them they changed their retreat on their property to a fully fledged Buddhist retreat hosting seminars and workshops to this day.
